SCP transfer with resumption using rsync

This is an echo of the article at http://joen.dk/wordpress/?p=34. Putting it here for reference purposes (just in case that goes away).

I was moving a single 14 GB archive over a flaky link: scp kept cutting out, I couldn't move it over Apache (was dealing with a REALLY old Apache server and Apache needs large file support to be compiled in to handle files with a size over 2GB) and so I was looking for SCP with resumption. Rsync to the rescue:

rsync --partial --progress --rsh=ssh <username>@<hostname>:<remote file path> <local file path>

And..that's it.

P.S. If you're looking to use your Android phone as a Bluetooth GPS device, checkout SolidSync Network/Bluetooth GPS in the Google Play Store or on the web at http://solidsync.com/networkbluetooth-gps.
